SAVAGE, Md., April 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – LTN Global Communications, Inc. (“LTN”), the global leader in broadcast quality IP video transport solutions, has expanded LTN Cloud Access for video transport to Occasional Use services. Booking broadcast quality video transport for games and events into public and private cloud platforms is now only a click away.
LTN Cloud Access was announced in 2017 and quickly moved into production use for a number of full time channels. Now the familiar LTN web booking portal can be used to book Occasional Use transport in and out of public cloud environments like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure. By streamlining the process and pricing models, organizations will be billed for only the exact time used into or out of the Cloud on a simple hourly model.
“LTN Cloud Access was critical in extending the network effect of LTN into the Cloud,” said Michal Miskin-Amir, Chief Technology Officer, LTN. “Customers are looking at moving playout or transcoding or other workflows into the Cloud, especially on an occasional use basis, because of the economic advantages of not having to invest in their own infrastructure. With this new service, LTN is now providing a video transport service that supports these customers cost-effectively, while maintaining the high quality and reliability of service that customers expect from us.”
The flexible and hands-off model powers a uniquely simple way to enable countless cloud-based services and workflows. Video transport in and out of the Cloud is possible through LTN managed peering sessions into customer-provided accounts. Customers only have to manage their own video processing or playout system instances and LTN takes care of the transmission.
“Everyday our customers are finding new cost-effective tools inside of these public cloud platforms,” said Michal. “These tools have previously been difficult to access on an ad/hoc basis. Now LTN is making it possible for broadcasters and digital providers to take advantage of everything the cloud platforms enable.”
